Veteran Fijian soccer league defender, Alfaaz Ali has secured a deal with the Fiji Saints for the upcoming season.
The former Fijiana FC stand -out held off his move until last Sunday, with a hope the now defunct Fijiana FC will have a change of heart and make the Premier League return.
The defensive thorn signed after seriously weighing out his options.
"I've signed with Fiji Saints", said Ali. “I've committed myself with the aim of helping the team find its defensive form".
"I weighed all my options before I made my decision on Sunday".
Ali has had a two (2010-2011) year hiatus with the Fiji Saints before joining Combine FC in the 2012 off-season; he joined the Fijian FC at the start of the last season.
He praised the ownership, said he is honored to be welcomed back with open arms.
“Fiji Saints have always been good to me. I would do myself unjust if I go play for some other team”, Ali said.
The former Rewa defender says with the inclusion of some of league’s elite players, Fiji Saints 2014 campaign has been strengthen.
Ali says the new look side is ready to lock horns with the league’s best.
“We’ll be looking at finishing the season atop the table”.
The Fijian Soccer League of Greater Vancouver’s 2014 season kicks off at the end of April.
