The Vancouverites will be joined by the Albertans who are coming in droves.

The Edmonton and Calgary fervent are taking advantage of the low introductory airfares offered by Swoop and Flair airlines.

“A large number of Alberta fans are taking advantage of cheap airfares”, said Raymond Naidu of Calgary, who arrived on Wednesday.

“People chose to fly rather than go through hassle of a 12-hour drive.

“For just $140 return, you can’t get a better bargain.

“It cheap and convenient”, he said.

Naidu said he was a part of huge group that bus to Vancouver last year and the many who had car pooled have used the very travel mode.

Edmonton residents, Rahul Lal and Harry Kumar said they’re ready to cheer for Fiji 7s team at the top of their lungs.

“The team can count on our support. We encourage Canadian Fijians to make the noise every time Fiji plays”.

Kumar added, Fiji 7s poor performance during the USA Sevens in Las Vegas hasn’t dampen the true Fijian spirit.

“Fiji is the reigning Canada Sevens champions, Fiji is in it to win it, we need to get behind the team and help them lift their game”.

An estimated 15 thousand Canadian Fijians made the biggest backdrop during last year’s event, the number is expected to grow this year as hundreds are taking the discounted fare deals Canada-wide.
